Rubin Huron

 Rubin Gabriel Huron Jr.

Born in Texas, Rubin Huron got his start in skating at the San Pedro Ice Arena and passed his first test at the Dallas Figure Skating Club. He later trained in Colorado Springs under Carlo Fassi, passing his Gold Test in 1965. He won the silver medal in the senior men's event at the 1965 Southwestern Championships and competed at the Midwestern Championships four times, his best finish being fourth in the junior men's event in 1963. Turning professional, he coached in Sioux City, Iowa, the Wagon Wheel Figure Skating Club in Rockton, Illinois and the Broadmoor Skating Club. He served as the coach of the ISU's World Figure Skating tour in the seventies. He also coached Wendy Burge, David Santee, Gail Hamula and Frank Sweiding, Barbie Smith and Scott Cramer. He passed away in San Antonio, Texas on April 16, 1992 at the age of forty-eight.
