Richard Timothy Scarry

Born in California, Rick Scarry got his start in skating at the San Diego Figure Skating Club. He first competed in the Southwest Pacific Championships in 1977 and won medals in the junior men's competition in that event in 1981 and 1983. In 1984, he won the silver medal in the junior men's event at the North Atlantic Championships, representing the Skating Club of Rockland. Switching to pairs skating, he won the gold medal at the 1987 Pacific Coast Championships with Christina Kopp. Christina and Rick competed in junior pairs at the U.S. Championships twice. He went on to skate with the Ice Capades. He passed away on November 24, 1990 at the age of twenty-six.
