Karen Newton and Glenn Laframboise

Glenn Laframboise was from North Bay, Ontario and represented the North Bay and Unionville Figure Skating Clubs as an amateur. He won the 1968 Northern Ontario novice men's title and was the bronze medallist in the novice pairs event (with Kathy Fahlgren) at the 1969 Canadians, the bronze medallist in the novice men's event at the 1970 Canadians and the silver medallist in the junior pairs event (with Karen Newton) at the 1974 Canadians. He went on to a successful career as a coach at the Nepean Skating Club. He passed away at the age of forty on October 14, 1992.

Glenn's obituary from "The Ottawa Citizen": "LAFRAMBOISE, Glenn Thomas (Former Figure Skating Professional at Nepean Skating Club) In his 40th year. Peacefully after a brief illness at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, October 1, 1992. Loving husband of Linda (O'Riley) Laframboise, formerly of Huntsville, Ontario. Beloved father of Sean and Dean. Loving son of Marilyn (Sargeant) Laframboise of Richmond Hill, Ontario, and Gary Laframboise of Boyd's Cove, Newfoundland. Loving brother of Debbie Gennoe and Paul Laframboise, both of North Bay, Ontario. Dear grandson of Norine Sargeant and the late Alfred Sargeant of Richmond Hill. Predeceased by grandmother Hazel Laframboise of Toronto. Will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends."
